Here in Florida we have a couple places who give free cataract surgery to poor elderly. Is there any place like that in South Bend/ Mishawaka? If not any advise on who to use .... who is decent in price would be appreciated. My poor old Mom needs this done & she told me Medicare will only pay a portion. All help is appreciated !

There is no place in South Bend, Indiana that does this. I have researched Mission Cataract USA (They have no doctors in the state and the out of state doctors will not service you since you are out of state), the Lyons Club to try and help with payment (they never wrote me back), and have even looked into Lanomax (lanosterol solution) (three different academic articles refuted the original researcher's claim). It looks as if you are in South Bend, Indiana you are without any resources and have to either live with the disorder (as I am), or go broke trying to get surgery (if you are on limited income and uninsured). The good news is that Medicare will pay for most of it (except about $1200 of it) if a person has Medicare).
I hope this helps someone. These resources sure didn't help me
