Default From DC to Lafayette--accounting jobs?

Hi, I am from Lafayette and I want to move back there in the next couple of years to be close to family. I have a Masters degree in Accounting and, by that time, will have my CPA and a couple of years experience at a CPA firm. Where the heck can I possibly get a job? Purude is impossible to get into, there are a few CPA firms but I doubt they are hiring, and there are tiny manufacturers. Even SIA doesn't have anything. It seems that kids straight out of Purdue who do internships at these places are going to snatch up the few jobs available. Am I right? Of course, there is the option of starting my own firm but surely, if there was a market for it, someone else would have done it. I also looked at the hospitals. Nothing. Is it really this bleak or is there something I don't know? Thanks so much!!! Maybe I should consider changing careers before I come???
