New to forum posting, so bear with me, my better half and I live presently in Oregon and have opportunities for jobs with the same company one in Indianapolis and one in Cincinnati so we are looking at a residence between the two cities where we could commute daily in opposite directions. In looking at the maps Greensburg looks to be the mid-point, anyone out there that has driven daily in either directions? Are we crazy for considering it? This would be a temp job less than a year and expenses are paid, we just want to have one place to live there, not two.
Thanks in advance for any help or advise you can offer

Yes, Greensburg is about halfway. It's on I-74, which goes to both cities as well.

It is a minimum 1 hours in either direction assuming no slowed or stopped traffic and no weather delays. So you each would spend 2 hours per day on the road in the best of days and more than that on not so good days. That is assuming middle of Indy and middle of Cinn. If your jobs are anywhere on the outside, add distance.

Greensburg is a not so good location right now since the Honda plant is opening up there and the real estate market has tightened immensly.

What about doing the European thing and having one be a roommate for the year and the other having a private apartment? Then the occasional 1 1/2 hour trip between the cities is less of a drain and you can survive quite nicely and fairly cheaply. Consider the time and cost of the second person's commute against the cost of being a roommate. After all after a long day and a 2 hour round trip commute for each of you, how much are you going to enjoy the middle of the week together. A lot easier than commuting coast to coast and a year is totally doable.
