Hello, I'm just curious to know what kind of community is south Bendix st. I'm looking at a house via the Internet, I'm relocating from North Carolina, and would like a heads up on the area.

South Bend actually is not considered part of Northwest Indiana. Try posting on the general Indiana forum, you'll have better luck with responses.

Not a good area in my opinion.

I wouldn't suggest moving to this area in South Bend as your first move. You will get a negative view of the city. There are plenty of other places to look as far as good areas of the city without much crime. Try the area. South Bend is hit or miss with neighborhoods. The generally good areas are neighborhoods by the river, north of downtown, by the University of Notre Dame, and some areas by US 20 (bypass). STAY AWAY from neighborhoods west of downtown, and some to the immediate south of downtown. Most other areas are generally safe.
