Default How cheap can you rent in South Bend?

So it looks like I'll be going to ND for grad school next fall. I will have a car. I don't need somewhere nice, I don't need somewhere fancy, I don't need a pool or anything like that. As long as things aren't broken and I'm not likely to get mugged, I don't care. What sort of possibilities do I have for a studio or 1 bedroom place? Is, say, $450 remotely plausible? Things are going to be tight on my stipend.

Check out the city of Mishawaka.

One BR near downtown Mishawaka (http://southbend.craigslist.org/apa/2817965329.html - broken link)

This one in South Bend I think is in a okay area.

Great, thanks! Reading info here and elsewhere had made me wonder if it was possible.

It's possible. It will be a hunt though. I think having a car is going to give you a lot more options. Good luck!
