I know someone who lives over in the Charlestown area. Did they receive any damage from the storm?

Read on another forum that the Cinci airport had to delay landings and take-offs due to debris dropping onto the runway from the sky. I think they said that distance is around 100 miles. It is one thing for a small piece of paper to float 50-100 miles in the air, but pieces of wood, metal, etc....just hard to imagine.

I know. My heart sinks for the good folks who sustained unimaginable devastation and loss. May they get all the support and care that they need.

I'm not from that area, so I don't know anything definite. I haven't found anything online about Charlestown, but it appears that Maryville and Henryville, two areas that were extremely hard hit, are just a few miles north of Charlestown. Here's praying that your friend is safe and prayers for all who were affected.

The Henryville tornado was just 10 miles from where I grew up in New Albany/Sellersburg. I still go down to that area all the time. I've passed that Henryville exit on 65 a billion times. It's just unbelievable what happened yesterday.

My heart is breaking for fellow Hoosiers who are affected.
Such a terrible loss.

My fiance was working in Sellersburg at the time. It was scary. If no one has seen any video of the tornados yet, WDRB has a good one of one passing through Washington County. I drove up that way to work today and saw some downed trees and part of the road missing, but it wasn't nearly as bad as out in Pekin or Henryville.

Update: In one day Wish-TV has raised almost $150,000 from Hoosiers willing to donate. Thats impressive.
Thats another reason i love Indiana. Hoosiers are always first to give back and help those in need.
God Bless Indiana.
