Evansville is the "hub" of the "tri-state" area. So, the regions of KY, IL, and IN that are nearby. Is it the "hub" of all of Southern Indiana? Meh..........I don't really think so. I don't think Southern Indiana has a "hub."

I've never thought of Evansville as any sort of "Hub" of S. Indiana. I would say the suburban areas around Louisville have a lot more pull than Evansville. Now, once the interstate is complete, Evansville may gain, but I would still see two "hubs" in S. Indiana: New Albany (and surrounding area) and Evansville. For now, Evansville just sounds like a regional hub of the general area, but not all of S. Indiana.

The reason that Evansville fought so hard for the I-69 extension is so that it could be connected to the rest of the state. Until the extension is completed Evansville remains detached from the rest of Indiana.

On Memorial Day I went home to Southern California. There was a gas station in Los Angeles on Olympic Blvd that sold gas for $4.93/gal. The average I saw at that time was $4.29/gal. Just a couple of weeks ago, I took leave and went back. Gas at that same Olympic Blvd station was $4.75 and throughout the city if was around $4.05. So things have gotten better.

Per WTHR the average price for unleaded gas in Indy today is $3.31. Lowest price on Kentucky Ave. at $3.19.

I am going to Ohio today, where gasbuddy.com is showing $3.05/gallon so I will fill up there.

Happy for that, but check out the chart on Gasbuddy and see how many states are under $2.88.

Gas in Indy is $2.98 to 3.12 right now.

Acording to WISH-TV, Indiana is on alert, as gas prices may jump 25-40 cents per gallon in the next couple of days.

Gas prices under $3 - but hike coming?
