Hello!

I am hosting a party of about 100-300 people in July-August of 2009.

I need to find a facility that can host that many people and allows people to carry in their own food, instead of using their catering.

I am also wanting a cash bar, or a bar to be available for the guests.

This is just a party where all my friends are getting together and just dancing and having a good time.

So whether its a hotel, or a lions club or american legion, it doesn't matter.

So far, I have come up with NOTHING that is even close to what I need.

I live near 86th street in Indianapolis IN. so it needs to be kind of close.

Does anyone have any ideas? Know of anyplace? Or a site that could help?

Anything would be appreciated! THANK YOU!!!

Couple ideas... sorry can't recall where exactly [Valle Vista?], but we had a gathering at a golf club years back just S of Indy, in the Greenwood area(?), not too far off of I-65, it was on the south side of the main road, maybe a mile off the interstate. Another thought, even tho' they may be focused mainly on hotel rooms, is to contact: Indianapolis: Article: The Indianapolis Meetings Team (http://www.indy.org/indianapolis/web/jsp/article/detail.jsp?c=11743090:redirect&p=1&x=1209664574526 &evaluate=com.base2inc.evaluate.util.SessionTools& setpath-mode=P - broken link) for some advice too, as it appears they could assist you, esp. w. such a large gathering. A Lions Club should work too - we had a surprise 80th b-day gathering for my dad at one, had ~120 there, and that was in a quite smaller community, brought our own vittles/drinks/music.

Oh, what day and what time should we be there?

You may want to check out the Indiana State Fair to see if they offer space for something like that. Here in Raleigh NC I work near the state fair and their electronic sign most of the times has a announcement of a large wedding or family reunion. Just a thought

This is just for what it may be worth and not sure it will be helpful, because I can't remember the name. I went to a wedding reception at a golf course club house a few years ago. I remember it having a cash bar and there were lots of people there, and that it was a nice place. I'm not real familiar with Indy. I can tell you that it's maybe a mile or so off 1-65 on the south side of town or maybe southwest. It is west of I-65.

ARTBOX gallery in downtown Indy...one of a kind-very different from any event venue in Indy with the loft type space and all the art! Good luck! http://www.artboxindy.com/GALLERYINF...0/Default.aspx
