I think you're overreacting a bit to what is just a legal argument being made by the AG -- that states, and not the federal government, should be able to dictate marriage laws.

I don't get how that makes sense, though, because then a marriage recognized in one state isn't recognized anymore if that couple moves to another state. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe you're correct. It's also my understanding that the U.S. Supreme Court could rule that way.
