Looking for friendly small town off of I69 or I70
Because of my husbands job status we will probably be moving. We would like to look into Indiana at least 30-45 mins from the highways I69 or I70. Any suggestions on friendly small towns? We have three kids ages 13 and under, so good schools are also a must. We also need an area with good job prospects (he's done various factory work in the past - mainly auto parts).
Anyone know of a good area?
Thanks,
Wendy

\I would highly recommend Plainfield because Plainfield has great schools infact the schools here have been rated at 4 star status for years, light traffic, right on I-70,close to everything, low taxes compared to rest of the region, close to everything imaginable, friendly people, lots of mechanical positions available, great trail network, nice spacious and clean park system that is growing as of 2008 we will have 8 parks, great emphasis on values-self esteem, dignity, respect for the environment, values like that, there is 35+ houses of worship for your chosing, Plainfield has a great police force, very low crime rate compared to the rest of the state and/or the nation, the average house here costs about $130,000-$200,000, Plainfield has been incorporated since 1839 so in a way it still has that small town feel,Plainfield is less than 15 minutes from Indianapolis International Airport and only 20-30 minutes from Downtown
Thanks,

Plainfield will be great once they get the I-69 extension rolling through.

I69 goes through Anderson. Muncie has better schools and of course Ball State University. Muncie is about 30 minutes from Anderson. Anderson is improving and people are friendly. Jobs are coming in. Nestle and others.
Where is your hubby's new job assignment?

How small of a small town are you looking for? And does it matter where off I-69, or do you need to be close to Indianapolis?

Yorktown is 5 minutes from I69 and about 45 minutes from Indianapolis. It has the small town feel with excellant schools and a very low crime rate. We have a great park area with excercise trails and equipment. Soon we will have a brand new sports complex with soccer, baseball, skatepark, etc. Please check out our videos on youtube under Yorktown, Indiana. The new Brevini auto parts maker is coming within 5 minutes of Yorktown and is employing 400 people.
