Moving to Purdue area to earn a Ph.D. but doesn't look like I'll get to go visit before I move (to scope housing situations). I've found one place I really like (Great price), but I'm getting mixed messages about area. It's off of Klondike, just south of HWY 231. It's a small apartment complex, but it backs up to a massive mobile home park. I don't care at all about race, ethnicity, ect. but do care about safety! I'm a young girl who will be living alone... and don't want to risk a great price for safety.

Any thoughts on this area? I would really appreciate them.

That area will be fine as there is rarely any crime in that area. That trailer park that you speak of is primarily latino and the folks are wonderful. Overall, the Klondike Rd. area is very suburban and quiet, and unfortunately, the only transit option you have there is the 4B bus. However, I do know that several apartment complexes in that area provide shuttles so that might be an option too.

LOL. I have nothing to actually contribute to your post in a meaningful way but I think that trailer park is where I lived almost 40 years ago when I was in preschool.

What is your PhD subject?
