I like southern Indiana the best. Tons of state and national lands a hop, jump, and skip away. A bit more scenic then northern Indiana. Great if you're a person who likes to get out in nature for camping, trekking, or hunting.

How is it more scenic than northern Indiana? I know I've heard that many times, but don't remember why that has been said.

That's right!! That's why I left....northern Indiana was SO flat. I remember the hills when we lived in the Evansville area. It was like going to a different land. Now here in Minnesota if you live on the northern side of the cities you get the hills. Southern side of the cities and southern Minnesota is like northern Indiana...flat. Thanks Domergurl It's great to see you, it's been quite awhile! I should come back to Indiana more often, afterall my screen name IS Hoosier.

I love the fact I can still live on the original farmland that has been in my family 125+ years. I love the fact I can't raise a window and spit on my neighbors house if I were that type of person to spit. I love my neighbors being 1/2 mile down the road but still have time to visit and share garden abundances. I love the changing of the leaves in the fall and the freshness of the spring.

I can drive less than 2 hours in any direction and be in many of larger cities but why other than Cubs baseball!

I love my kids can still go outside to play or sleep outside, have bond fires with friends over and not fear for their safety. That their class sizes are smaller, their teachers know the first and last names of their student's parents, they will walk with about 120 others to graduate high school and my kids can choose from many fine colleges here in our state.

I love walking into our library, meat market, gas station, cable company and any other business and be called by my first name. I love the honesty and hard workers of IN that will give a complete stranger the shirt off their back if needed. I love not taking my van keys out of my van when I go into a business or parked in my driveway. I LOVE the smell after mowing our 5 acres it is just fresh and looks so good.

I love that you can go into a cemetary and whole sections are one family and you can name what family is in what sections. I love still being able to grow a garden and canning up the produce from it, raising a calf, pig or chicken from birth to butcher knowing what was in their feed and none of it will harm my family's health and is safe. I love going up north to see the Amish buggies still traveling the roads that a simplier life is still desired and done!

I wouldn't take a McMansion if given to me if I had to live down in Indy though. Give me wide open spaces, knowing my neighbors and how long their land has been in their families, the knowledge of hearing an address and being able to drive straight to it in no traffic and the ability to drive to a larger city if I feel the need to be exposed to 'city life'.

How's that? When ya all coming?

Well I like Northwest Indiana but the reason top 10 reason I like it is...
1. The dunes
2. Summer at the dunes.
3. The lake effect snow.
4. We are an hour outside of Chicago
5. Only takes a few minutes to get any were.
6. Has a little of everything, country and city people.
7. Mostly polish people in my city and we know everyone.
8. Its quite when you get away from the city by just going ten minuts away.
9. In High school You don't know anything about IN state government but you know Illinois and the only time you find out who won the election in IN for governor, is if you have to do an IN current event for school.
10. My family and I grew up in Northwestern IN.

That is the 10 ways I like Indiana or as you cansay Northwestern Indiana.

Some would say that the beaches and sand dunes of Northern Indiana are just as pretty as the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. Some would say the miles and miles of corn fields are pretty too!
