You have to have some money to make it here, Only the rich stay out of the red around here. The middle class has been forgotten.

You seem to have the wrong thread. This is what you LIKE about Indiana.

And besides, that's true about everywhere almost. You have to have money to make it anywhere. I live on about 16 grand a year OK by not living out of my means. It's not easy, but I do it.

Default Hoosier Women...

Our Ladies are the best, sweet hearts that melt your mind, that's not to say they don't play games. Stay on your game and score. They got legs up to their ears and their top heavy too, must be the corn fed beef.
What do they do in Indiana, rock concerts, boats on the lakes and reservoirs, fireworks on the lake, rented cabins for the weekend, cruisin in our old muscle cars to state parks, Brown County, Potatoe Creek and Angola.
Our chicks rock... hell yeah...

And none of this sarcastic stuff. Such as, I like the fact that it's completely flat and it's a blah blah blah, I'll be asking that our wonderful mod delete the posts, because if you can't be genuinely happy about some things, don't post in here. There are plenty of depressing threads to be depressed in, feel free to use them.

I'll start here in a little bit!
I like it that my asthma improved SIGNIFICANTLY when I visited my family there. Here in Arizona, I have to live off a nebulizer, Advair 500/50, albuterol rescue inhaler, Nasonex, Allegra, Singulair, and my doctor is considering me for Xolair injections. I recently even had to have a cortisone injection. I have very severe attacks in Arizona to the point where my airways nearly shut off. In Indiana, my attacks were mild and I didn't need my nebulizer at all. As a matter of fact, in Indiana, I went several days without even using my inhaler. Best of all, my asthma required no short doses of prednisone. Oh, and it gets better, when I visited over the summer, I had no asthma symptoms at all. I am still praying for a job in Indiana.

My husband and I spent a few days in Bedford last fall. It's a bit hard to find a good place to eat and there are a lot of small industrial areas throughout the town. I don't mean to be negative. There are some nice areas, too. I am also aware of a young couple who purchased a house built around 1912. They are restoring it. The woodwork and brass doorknobs in this house are outstanding. It seems like there are a lot of older homes in Indiana that are waiting to be restored by loving hands.

Great info here. My wife is org. from IN. I have been there twice. Did not want to leave. I have lived in Idaho, mostly Oregon, Tex. NM, Washington, Hawaii, and have been in AZ 9 years. I have travled in my trade as a painter/drywall plus for 44+ yrs. I am looking forward to moving very soon to Brown county. I am semi retired at my trade. I am a HOME BREWER, taking classes at a coll. for ceramics, computer repair, Ebay. My wife is a very good artist and has her painting in several art galleries, 2 right now. Have any good info for me...please send a DM. Thank you, John and Peggy

my favorite thing about Indiana is that i can be the sole bread winner with my wife staying home with the 2 kids and still manage to live comfortably and stash away some money for retirement, rainy day, and 529s. can't beat the cost of living here!

With attacks that severe it seems your life is in danger by staying in Arizona. I do hope you find a way to move and soon!

Definitely the cost of living.

My husband has been off work since November due to an injury, and my hours from my main job have been almost cut in half. I got a part-time gig consulting (so maybe 28 hrs/wk for both jobs), and we're actually doing ok.

I worked two jobs (48-60 hrs/wk) when I lived in the Seattle area, and we were destitute.
