The left is the passing lane. Pass the trucks then get over. I don't understand why this is such a freakin' hard concept.

It's not your responsibility to police the roadways for speeders.

Not policing others, just going the speed limit. I don't intentionally block drivers in, but I see where missing Indiana is coming from, it's not my job to constantly move over because someone else is driving far too fast. This law in essence permits people up break the speed limit, so what's the point in even having one???

Yes it is.

You are the kind of driver that cause backups and accidents. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the middle of a long line of cars in the left hand lane on 65 and had to slam on my brakes because some yahoo has decided to do 68 and brake check everyone. The same moron who has decided that he will ride side by side a truck and not let anyone pass or get over to the right himself.

That's the kind of idiot who causes accidents.

Here's one list of all the states with the same or similar law
State "keep right" laws

Indiana law: Section 67. IC 9-21-5-7. A person may not drive a motor vehicle at a slow speed that impedes or blocks the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with the law.

Section 69. IC 9-21-5-9. A person who knows, or should reasonably know, that another vehicle is overtaking from the rear the vehicle that the person is operating may not continue to operate the vehicle in the left most lane.

Indiana General Assembly, 2015 Session

That first part alone says you are not allowed to purposefully drive slow to impede the flow of traffic. The second part essentially says a car going 60 in a 55 zone must give way if everyone else is going 65. So yes, if you are going the speed limit and everyone else is going 5-10 over, you must move over to the right lane. It is law starting July 1 and is the law in at least 28 other states. Some states have even stricter laws.

This law was also amended so that if you're on a 2-lane road and have more than 3 vehicles behind you that cannot pass you on the left, you must pull off to the right when safe to do so and let them pass.

You are misreading my posts, I never said I intentionally block people in or match speed with a truck, or drive at 68. And no, it's not my job to move over when I'm comfortably passing a truck at 70-75. People speeding is what causes accidents.

Come July 1, it will be the law.

If you are "comfortably passing a truck" the law does not apply to you, assuming you move over once you are done passing the truck.

You need to reread the law. If I'm passing at 75 the law requires nothing of me.

Exactly, if I'm passing at 75 I'm not going to suddenly move over for someone who is behind me trying to pass at 85 in a 70.

You have said it's not your job to move over if someone is driving too fast. Actually you're right - it's not your job. It will be the law.

House Enrolled Act 1305 permits police to issue $500 tickets to left lane drivers who fail to move into the right lane if they know, or should reasonably know, another vehicle is overtaking them — even if the other vehicle is exceeding the speed limit.
