I need a little help
I am a activity director in Lafayette and I am taking my residents on a mystery field trip to see the wind farm. I went up yesterday, Sunday, July 27th and I took HWY 52 up to Fowler and then cut across over to Boswell and saw the beautiful wind mills going up. Is there more somewhere else around that area? Where is Earl Park? Can someone give me a good
way to go up so my residents can see them up close? We would be coming up HWY52. I sure could use some help! Thanks

wind farms
activemindy,
I am fairly new to the area, but I believe if you continue on Hwy.52 thru Fowler you will be going towards Earl Park. About where Hwy.41 merges in there is a wind farm in operation (different developer from ones being built in Fowler). It will be on your left...can't miss it! You can not actually go up to one (private property) but one is very close to a road that runs off the highway. If you get out of car there you can actually hear the "whoosh" of the turning windmill...really neat!!
I'll ask my husband (on the Fowler project) but I am sure they do not let anyone up close to turbines for safety reasons. I can't even go at this point!
Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you for your help! We did go up to Fowler and Earl Park and it was super!
Our residents loved it and were so amazed at how big they are. It was a great trip!

Regarding the camping chat
Missty,
My husband and I are working out at Fowler Ridge as well. We just got our RV and we are looking for a good RV Park nearby. The best/ closest we've found is Caboose Lake. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks

yes how neat, but some people dont understand the property value loss and then theres the big sub stations that go in.now let me ask you this how would you like to live in your dream house in the country with 5 acers with peace and quiet and then all of a sudden this big sub station goes in less than 220 yards from your house and this loud annoying hum that comes from it,not very pleasant then.I have lived here all my life with peace and quiet and now its not,and on top of that i will never be able to sell this place becauce nobody in their right mind wants to live this close to that.

Does anyone have a site plan for all of the proposed windmills in Benton County. I own 5 acres in benton county just north of Fowler. I never was contacted, but today when I went there to see my place, I can see the windmils both to the west and south of me.

Hi, I'm trying to get information on how best to tour the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm. I'd like to take my class (university grad students) out for a closer look.
So any information anyone can give on my questions would be welcome:
1. Is there a local manager of the power plant whom I could contact?
2. For those who have gone; where's the best view[s]?
3. Does anyone know the property owners around any of the turbines? I'd like to get up close to one, but I don't want to tresspass on private land.
