GreensburgSchoolSystemInfoNeeded (Decatur, Batesville, Hope: houses, neighborhoods, purchasing)

My family is looking at relocating to the Greensburg, Batesville area soon. Although we have no ties to the new Honda Plant, we are curious what it is going to do to the housing/property market. I am currently trying to gather as much information as I can about the school systems in the area. I have heard great things about North Decatur Schools but have been unable to get much information concerning the other schools in the area. I would welcome any information that anyone could provide on all the school systems in the area as this is the biggest deciding factor of where we will be purchasing a home.

Hi, we are moving to the area as well, so I have been doing research of the towns and schools in the area. North Decatur and Batesville have excellent test scores. I don't know much about N. Decatur schools because we ruled out Greensburg/Decatur County early in our search. I know that Batesville has a primary, intermediate, middle and high school. I have been by the schools and they are all nice looking. The primary school looks as if it is a fairly new school. Batesville has higher housing prices compared to Greensburg. Houses in Batesville are very nice & there are many nice neighborhoods. Batesville has a higher median salary and a higher percentage of the residents are college educated compared to Greensburg. A good website to check out is greatschools.net . Among other things, it gives test scores (current year and the three previous years), parent reviews and will link you to the schools' websites. Also check out the city pages here at city-data they give some good information as well. Hope this was helpful...
