I am developing a sink hole in my front yard. We bought a property with a county drain on it, however, the tiles are bad between the ditch drain, and the drain in my front yard. County is telling me this is not their problem. The rural subdivision we live in does not have a home owners association.

Do I have any options, other than to hush up and fix it myself?

I had a county ditch to the west of my lot in a neighborhood. No HOA or anything. The back of our yards had a buried 10" or so drainage tile with 6" or so vertical runs that went up to the surface. I don't know how, but my drainage cap that keeps leaves and stuff from going down the pipe went missing. Even though we paid a very small fee on our property taxes for our water going down to the ditch, the actual pipe drains in the yards were the responsibility of the owners. You will likely have to fix this yourself.
