Default Possible family move to Angola area

I have read many post that say fort wayne area mainly north east section is nice for families and somewhat boring. So this area , of course, does not have night life and things to do as in cities like NYC and Boston understood.

Let me paint the picture here-
For a young family looking to escape the Rat race as we are currently residing in Northern NJ and are tired of traffic, high taxes. Lot size 50*100 neighbors are in your face everyday.

Main concern is good public schools, low crime, solid traditional family values.
I understand the angola area has many lakes for summer fun lake james etc.

So in light of this info how would you rate Angola / Auburn area commuting to maybe Fort Wayne for work.

Thnks in advance for any info.

Angola and Auburn are nice. I used to go to basketball camp at Lake James ... yes, lots of lakes. Auburn is nice too, a superb car museum ... you have to check it out. As for schools, the Homestead district in Aboite Twp near Fort Wayne is very good.

I just moved to Missouri from Angola area. Angola is nice small town. The lakes offer a lot of summer fun for a family. My daughters both graduated from Angola as did I.
The commute to Fort Wayne is only about 45 miles and quick on I69.

there's not much of a rat race here in angola. we just moved so i can't comment on the schools here but everyone says they are good. definitely a low crime area. small town atmosphere. not a whole lot of shopping but that's what the internet is for.

Angola is a wonderful place. Pokagon State Park. Oh the memories of summers spent there as a child!
