Default Fort wayne IT Job market

We have learned about the schools in Angola. I have seen all of them.
Greatschools.net rates Angola high school good.
Enjoy Pokagen State Park in the summer and winter.
Lived in Northern NJ all my life and we are not city people. Tired of the rat race and my kids are ages 9 and 7. We are afraid if we do not make a move soon we may never do it.
So the problem is work. I am a IT professional with 12 years experience with a Microsoft / IBM partner, but we are small ( 10 employees).
No xfer happening here.
In order to pull this off I would 1st sell my home here in NJ and then move and rent at first while looking for a job.

My main concern is the amount of IT jobs in fort wayne as I see fort wayne as the best area to land a related job.

I am looking for any help on the economy etc. I understand Fort wayne was a manufacturing area and I am not sure how things are changing.

I guess there is always some fear with big change, but I would not need to earn as much living in Indiana as NJ.
Any info on the job market and opportunites would be appreciated.

The job market in IT in Indiana is pretty limited. Many of the places that hire are hospitals and some specialty places. However I wouldn't expect much in the area of the hospitals, they like to get younger folk with low to no work experience out of college to pay them as little as possible in both wages and benefits. And the specialty places, they usually don't advertise outright, so, many times it is someone that a person who works their knows. Many people in this area usually try to start their own computer places to compete with places like Best Buy, Circuit City... uhm... Wal-Mart? Because when it boils down to it, no one wants to go to those places anymore.
