Default Moving to Indy...please help

I am a young college student and I am moving to Indy to go to Ivy Tech Community College. I am moving by myself from my parent's house in Seymour (southern indiana). I need affordable living (apartment) preferably close to Ivy Tech, which is 30th & North Meridian St. area. Considering I am by myself and coming from a small town, can anyone tell me about this area/ is it safe? Any recommendations on other areas? Any other tips/advice? I am clueless as to what living in the city will be like, and I'm mervous about being by myself...

I wouldn't sweat it ... Indy isn't like most urban areas. I would suggest you find a roommate. That way, you wouldn't be by yourself having to navigate the city alone. Does Ivy Tech have roommates boards? At least that way, you'd have fellow students to live with, and probably get a bigger place. Just a suggestion.
