Which town would be a better area to purchase a home in? I'd appreciate your opinions!

for my opinion, Ossian is smaller, less notoriety. Bluffton is bigger, better opportunity for resale, when that time comes. Don't see greater development coming in Ossian, Bluffton can always develop as the city it is. Maybe in 2040 things may be really cooking there.

Depends on what you're looking for. Homes are more expensive in Ossian because of the school district (Northern Wells, AKA Norwell HS). That same school system is also in the north 1/2 of Bluffton.
If you're in Ossian, you'll find yourself making trips to either Ft Wayne or Bluffton often. (But heck, Bluffton's only about 10 min from Ossian) We've been in Bluffton for almost 10 years. It's perfect for us. There are many nicer homes than ours, and there are many less nicer homes than ours. My husband works in Ft Wayne. We looked at houses in both Ossian and Bluffton and just ended up settling in Bluffton. Both are quiet little towns. PM me if you want! |

Ha, this is coming from a person who feels like they escaped from small town madness. I have lived in Bluffton and Ossian. If you are looking for a good school system then Ossian or the northen part of Bluffton will be best. Bluffton has a decent school system. Norwell is much more clique oriented based on wealth. Either way I would never move back to either town. It just wasn't for me and never will be.
Happy house hunting! |
