Thanks for viewing everyone and keep those beautiful pictures of Indiana coming!
Thanks gdude. I've also got many good memories of MSA, going all the way back to the Pacers in their ABA days. With all of the construction happening at the time, I took a lot of downtown Indy pics in the early-to-mid 80s. Not counting panoramic skyline shots (like the previously posted skyline pic), a couple of my favorite subjects were the AUL Building (as it was formerly known) and the Hoosier Dome (as it was formerly known) as they progressed through construction, but my absolute favorite was MSA. It was so architecturally unique and different, and it seemed that, no matter what, you couldn't take a bad picture of it.

Yep, hard to keep track of banks nowadays.... and definitely steep stairs at MSA, and seemingly neverending, too!

Thanks gdude...glad you like them! I do have many early 80's pics of Indy and will scan/post some of them when I get home from work. With the way the downtown area "grew up" during that time, many of the buildings that are now staples of the Indy skyline are either non-existent or were under construction in some of the pictures, so it's kind of interesting and nostalgic to see it the way it once was.

Default Indy in August 1981

Looking northeast on Monument Circle toward the then Indiana National Bank.

Looking north/northwest from the southwest quadrant of Monument Circle towards what would be the American United Life building.

Looking west from Denison's Parking Garage (where the First Indiana building now stands) towards the then Indiana Bell buildings and the under construction American United Life building. <<Look at that Pinto in the picture... if there were also a Pacer in it, the picture would be priceless!! haha>>

Looking east down Market Street (which was being converted from asphalt to brick surface at the time) from the top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument towards Market Square Arena.

"Hoosier Dome" during early phase of construction (1982).
