Here are some pictures from the ice storm that hit Northern Indiana on
Dec 19, 2008.

Tree in my front yard.

Facing the north from our home.

Tree on Main Street in Berne, IN after the storm.

The beginning of the storm around 3 am and the Christmas lights on the front of my house.

Nice pictures!! we got the sleet/snow mix which caused alot of problems down here by Indy. I hear about 70,000 people in Northern Indiana are still without power according to Duke Energy.

I've never been to Indiana but I have enjoyed looking at these pictures. Some of those small towns look like Mayberry (I mean that in a good way).

Thumbs up lost memories

gdude, domergurl and all others that have posted pics of Indiana.
Thank you

I recently stumbled upon this site and it has brought back some long lost memories of growing up in northwestern IN and living there for 22 years. I left for TX in late 81 and lived there for 18 years and then moved to NC. I regretfully have not been back to IN since I left.
Hopefully one day I can return to see how thing have changed in the last 3 decades.

Nice pictures gdude!
Has anybody tried playing with google earth street view? I loaded latest version and was able to to revisit some old stomping grounds in South Bend and North Liberty this weekend. Not the greatest quality but it did give me some idea how some things have changed in some places and how some areas have stayed pretty much the same in nearly 30 years that I have been gone. Not every street is pictured but there was enough that I was able to get a feel of the area again.
Does anyone have any old pics of North Liberty, South Bend, or surrounding areas?
