Not as good as gdude's pics, but it's springtime in my yard!
Forsythia! They turned overnight.
Planted 3 tulip bulbs 2 falls ago when my daughter started her first communion lessons, they've multiplied:
My little grove of hyacinths are peeking through!
I love this time of year.

Formerly from Indiana (Lafayette), I really miss spring! I remember going mushroom hunting and walking through patches of Virginia bluebells. Yes, those "sponge" mushrooms were hard to find. Does anyone have photos of redbud in flower?

Aahh, flowers. Thanks to Domergurl, I now know when to expect the forsythia to bloom compared to northern IL. My forsythia are not yet blooming. My hyacinth are not yet sending up flower heads. My tulips are just poking through. But, my crocus are finally coming up! I have a ways to go until I see anything more.
I wish I was where you are!

Aww, thanks Gdude! After looking at the many beautiful pictures you posted, and those from others, I can almost picture myself there. So many gorgeous places to explore, my little notebook of things to check out in Indiana is filling up quick!
In fact, this next week, my eldest and I will be off to West Lafayette for accepted freshman information sessions at Purdue. I can't wait to see if there is anything blooming in West Lafayette, even if it is only a few hours south of me at this time. I know my daughter is looking forward to exploring the area, too.
Well, until I do manage to move south, I will just keep looking at all your pictures and enjoying the view!

I was puttering around the yard this afternoon. And I went to put some seed in my bird feeder and noticed a turtle dove was just sitting there not moving .... well, it turns out, it's a nesting mother. I hadn't put seed in for a couple months, so these turtle doves obviously felt it was a good place to build a home and have a family. I'm not going to disturb it ... I'll keep everyone updated. It's an old feeder that fits perfectly into my crab apple tree. My daughter named her peach.
