Yes, in a good way. I grew up in Indiana (Laf.) and one week after graduating from Purdue, I started my new job in south Florida. My parents moved down here in 1980. My sis is in s. California. I had a great time in Indiana, but was ready for a new adventure! I haven't been back since 1980. I have mixed feelings about going back.....it just wouldn't be the same without my parents being there, etc.

Lafayette is an amazing "Small City" I loved staying in Lafayette 2 summers ago. I was their for about 6 weeks. Walking on the trails, canoeing on the Wabash/Tippecanoe,riding up to Indiana Beach, touring Purdue and going shopping and visiting the museums up their. I was their for summer camp. Lafayette looks alot different that what it probably did in 1980. The Railroad Line that went through downtown has been tunnelized through most of that area.
I'll pull up some Lafayette area photos just for you!
Are your parents able enough to accompany you on maybe a possible vacation up here?

Gdude, I love the picture of the Ohio River at Leavenworth.
That bridge in Linton for some reason just seems to look so mid western, something I love. That old bridge has a lot of character.
I need to spend more time in Indiana when I travel through. Gdude, your photos never let me down. After all Indiana is quintessential America.

I love that picture of the Ohio to. From that picnic table to the river is only like 700-900 feet with a drop of almost 200 feet so that's a steep hill.
I agree with you on that bridge in Linton. I love photographing old barns, houses and bridges they have lots of character to them. Especially if you can find pictures from earlier times and compare with the ones you take. You can see how that structure has stood the passage of time.
Indiana is beautiful what some think are just old and hideous looking structures that dot the rural highways and bridges are new and filled with character to others.

Thanks, gdude! There nothing like the awesome pictures you post, but I thought maybe some may enjoy pictures of an old Indiana Ball Park along with a little history.

Isn't Bob Griese originally from Evansville? If so, does he ever come back for a visit? (I am from Lafayette originally).

Bob Griese was and still is a class act! A fine person and athlete. P.S., when I was a kid, I went to Purdue games with my father - watched Bob play and Leroy Keyes and....... Great memories!!! Coach Jack Mollenkopf was a friend of my father. In fact, my father used to fly with the team occasionally to some of the away games - before my sis and I were born.
