Hello, My husband and I are considering a possible relocation to Evansville. We currently live in Mississippi but actually went to (and met at) U of E 10 years ago. We're both native midwesterners.

His job would be located in Haubstadt. I'm not too familiar with that area. Can anyone give me the lowdown on that area- schools, housing, etc? Thanks!!!

Hi! I'm from E-ville, my husband is from haubstadt. We currently like in TX, but he's just accepted a position that will bring us back home. We'll be moving to haubstadt, as well. He's also a graduate of UE.

The schools are fabulous. Check them out at greatchools.com they are ranked 10 out of ten. Haubstadt is growing, as with the rest of the area, and there's great opportunity there. E-ville is a twenty minute drive, at least to the East side where most of the shopping, restaurants are. As far as housing, it's kinda high, but I believe they are going through the same real estate slowdown as everyone else right now. Go to remax.com and type 47639 into the zip code. It'll bring up all the houses for sale in Haubstadt, and if you're interested in Ft. Branch, just a bit north, the zip code is 47648. I believe thoses schools are also very good. They both feed into the same high school.

Hope your move is an easy transition, and that this info helps!

You can also go to realtor.com and see what's for sale with all the realtors. But then find a local realtor that has a link to put the MLS listing number. You can use tht on houses not with that realtor too. You can see more about the house that way. Usually more pictures. You can use zip code or just type in the name of the town.
