Default Anyone Live in Eastlake Woods, Columbus?

Hi,

I'm moving to Columbus this summer and am planning to rent a one bedroom apartment. I'm pretty close to renting a place at Eastlake Woods in the Tipton Lakes neighborhood.

From the pictures and the description of the neighborhood, the Tipton Lakes area seems to be the place to live if you like the nature and the lakes. I'm not so sure about Eastlake though.

I've seen some pictures of the place and have read some reviews - which have been overwhelmingly negative. The negative reviews is what has me worried. I haven't been able to find anyone who lives in these apartments, so theres a lack of on-the-ground feedback.

If anyone who lives in or has seen an apartment at Eastlake could comment on their condition? The neighborhood seems excellent and the staff at the complex have been nice enough. I'm worried about the state the apartments in? Some reviews posted on apartmentratings.net said that the place has a generally tacky feel, someone else said that its falling apart!

Looking for some feedback from long time residents, the apartments seem nice enough from the outside, any insight to the interiors?

Ashish,

I have been in the apartments and I thought they were pretty nice. I actually helped get one for a client that will be coming here with Cummins employment. The apartments can not be that bad because they are rented out all of the time. It is very hard to get one at Eastlake. We had to get on a waiting list, but recently was accepted.

If you have anymore questions you can send me a direct message. I will try to answer any of your concerns.

Thank you,
Julie L

Hi, I have visited the area and liked it a lot...I am also on the waiting list there...can anyone comment how much time generally it takes to get one...I know its very subjective but if someone can share their experiences that will be really helpful..

Thanks for the replies JulieL and Techoin,

@JulieL - Thanks for the info - thats all i needed to know. Like i said earlier, i do like the place a lot, its just the bad reviews that made me a bit nervous - especially when renting sight-unseen.

@Techoin - was wondering if you actually got to see the inside of an apartment?

as for your question - you have to get on the waitlist - they told me that they require their tenants to give them 30 days notice. So if an apartment is opening up Jun 1st. They'll be able to tell you May 1st-5th. I would expect that they'll have something available in that one month time-frame, when do you expect to move to Columbus?

as for my own experience - I applied for an apartment mid-march, eastlake was able to place me in an apartment mid to early april. I think I was luckier to be offered an apartment that early.
