Hello! Well darn it, just when I thought I finally narrowed it down to exactly where I want to move my family too after a year and a half of research [studying demographics, economies, public schools, terrain, climate, ect.] and 3 visits to the area, and hundreds of correspondence on the city-data Kentucky forum, one of you throws a wrench in my big ideas by mentioning the Floyds Knobs area in Indiana

. We thought we had narrowed our favorite location to Oldham County east of Louisville in Kentucky. Met all of our criteria and besides it was beautiful! Basically I have some good job prospects in east/southeast Louisville area and don't want to be much farther than a 1/2 hr from work.
Someone on the Kentucky forum happened to mention that the Floyds Knobs area was similar to Oldham County and offered a bit more land for the money in a nice upscale area with good schools. The max we will be able to afford is $250K for a home and like a lot of people want at least a 1/2 acre or more to go along with it. On the realtor sites I have found a few homes in our price range that I like so that isn't a problem from the looks of it.
Now I need to know more personal opinions of the area, what you like, what you don't like, things to do in the area, especially for kids, if any of you happen to ride motorcycles off-road or on-road let me know how the area is for that? Any good bicycle paths in Floyd County? Any natural hiking areas? Is there a good YMCA foundation locally like I noticed Oldham County and East Jefferson County in KY have? I have already checked the scores for the schools in the area, and they all look excellent just like Oldham County in Kentucky so that sounds good. We are a very active outdoor type family, my girls are ages 5 and 10. Like a lot of people just want to live in a safe and more country type atmosphere area. How is the crime in the area, if much at all? How is the traffic crossing over the bridge to get into KY for those of you who work over there?
How is Indiana for Police and Fire response? Are the schools newer or old schools that are good but need some upgrades? Were not heavy church goers, but not against the idea either. Like a area full of good moral values and character. Any cute/fun towns nearby close to hop over too for shopping/exploring? You moms out there, give me good ammunition for my wife on things you like!

Comparisons of good and bad between In and KY if you know any are good too! A lot of questions I know, but I hope you all can help me with them!

Thank you in advance!
