House elevation - White brick OR Red brick
We are buying home and would like to choose between half White brick or natural reddish brick for elevation. Home elevation is very important for owner and resale point of view. What would you suggest for resale point of view. here is my argument.
White Brick - Looks RICH, little expensive, may NOT be a main stream selection.
Red Brick - Looks natural, may be mainstream, neutral color for RESALE point of view.
This is what I am looking at.
Most of the homes I have browsed are in red brick color instead white brick. Is that because white is little expensive OR red brick is more natural and every one like it and so the resale point of view?
Any suggestions PLEASE.

Settled in SomerSet wood. We like the price vs Value of drees homes. compromised on few things that we don't like : (
Ok white is not an option for resale value when we compare with half white?
We are leaning to wards white but is red really main stream for resale???

Personally .... I like the look of red brick better than white brick. I'd be more inclined to say, wow, that's a pretty red brick house. Somerset isn't far from my old neighborhood!

Red brick - not only more traditional but hides dirt & thus ages much better.

I agree with all above comments. makes sense. Still are there any one vote for white brick which I would think is rich, unique and stand out. I have seen lots of rich homes with white brick and production level homes with different flavors of red brick.
Any thoughts???

Yes white brick stands out - however, the white brick eventually looks yellowish due to dirt and grime... I don't think that looks good at all. In your position I would drive around to the wealthiest neighborhoods in the region and take pictures of your most favorite-looking homes. I'd then go to a reputable brick company, show them what you like best, and have them duplicate it for your house. There's a local brick company in my area which actually keeps a database of what homes have what installed... and it takes the guesswork out of what you ask for.
Other than brick I love the look of stone as well. When done tastefully you can end up with a home that indeed looks very nice and a bit like a castle.

I agree with 'mbuszu'. I am trying to understand, why most of the custom homes have white brick on it. Is it because it is rich. Again, I have seen nice red brick homes too....
Are there any one who say no to "Red brick looks good, and good resale point compared to white brick'. Any thoughts...
And also, I am opting for stone too. Does stone really increases the appeal of the home and can it be + point during selling. Any thoughts????
Where are the most expensive homes exist in Indianapolis area. Any idea????

White brick always reminds me of a couple of Chicago suburbs known, in the past, for Mafia associations and also "I want it to look like I've made it so I'm choosing white brick" suburbs. (In my last home the three neighbors that choose white brick were from those suburbs curiously enough.)
I know, kind of odd, but what can I say....I don't have to live in your house.
Obviously I would go with red brick. It's classic. White brick, from my understanding, will eventually need to be painted. If it's a production builder like Drees I can almost guarantee that finish will eventually need painted or it will become red.
