Question Purdue University west lafayette (weather and local area)

hey, im going off to college this coming fall and i need to make a decision about where i want to go ASAP. im 99.9 percent sure i want to go to purdue because it looked fantastic when i went to visit, but im worried about the weather (is it just cold or does it snow a lot?) and local entertainment. ie what can i do off campus. i care about the weather because i want to be a pilot and a lot of snow would mean less air time. thanks for any help you can give.

It rains more than it snows.
It's windy more than it rains.
You should have tons of flying time.

Entertainment is lacking but improving. Mostly, it consists of drinking in (barely) off-campus bars.

If you're an outdoorsy type or interested in getting involved in community culture, there's more to do. However, in terms of casual, college-age entertainment (ie; bars, dance clubs, and the like) it's meh. Concentrate on your flying or get a girlfriend to spend your free time on.

Stuff near campus: 15 bars, 2 top-40/hip-hop clubs, tiny ice rink, good sports/exercise facilities, movie theater, bookstores.
