info about Angola
Im a therapist planning to relocate in Angola. I don't know anytrhing about the town can somebody help me with my dilemma. I live in Chicago and we want to raise a family in a small town rather than in a big city. Several of our friends from Michigan and Indiana recommended the North East region of the state and thats where I found Angola. Would it be a good decesion to move there? By the way, would it also matter if I come from a different race (Filipino)?

Angola is home to one of the finest engineering schools around, currently Tri-State, this fall to become Trine University, so I believe there are residents of other races located there (we live about 30 miles away, but go there for shopping and to eat out, etc.). Also, you are not too far away from Fort Wayne if you want a little larger city activities, and if you need to go back to Chicago for something, it is only a couple of hours on the toll road. There are a lot of lakes in the area for summer recreation as well as snowmobile trails and toboggan runs for winter fun (if that is what you like). If that is not to your liking, there are many other activities. City of Angola - Municipal Website and Angola Chamber of Commerce will give you some additional insights.

I have lived here in Angola for 22 years...
If you love the water there's plenty of lakes around these parts...boating,skiing, & fishing
My sons all graduted from Fremont...but all the schools in the angola area seem to be alright..my sons graduating classes were 95-100 students..rather small, whereas Angola prolly has 200-300 students...Hamilton and Prarie Heights schools are relatively the same size as Fremont...
I personally don't think your race will be any kinda of problem...
If you like blues music then be sure to go to Skips Party Place on wednesday nites...national blues acts are the norm.. a good time always...
Alot of real estate for sale here also...some good deals...
Good Luck

Fremont is small town usa...
I'm not sure if Fremont has a nursing home...but Angola has a couple...
The hospital has Cameron Woods... Assisted adult living and they may even have a nursing home ...Its kinda new 4-5 years old...beautiful setting in the woods..you may find this information by searching Cameron Memorial Community Hosital
The hospital and a private company offer in home health care...
There are several options for this type of care in the Steuben county area

I grew up in the Angola/Fremont area as a child, moved away, but have since moved back with my own family. We too wanted to raise our children in a small town and it has been worth everything. We are very happy here. My husband works out of Ft.Wayne which is only an hour drive tops. The schools are good, lots of lake activities, and people are always more than willing to help. There are a couple of nursing homes and a hospital in Angola, and also some in Coldwater, MI which is only about 20 minutes away. Hope this helps you! Good luck!!
