50+ year old couple need 3-day vacation. HELP!
My mother has given me the undaunting task of finding her a 3 day get away for June 20- 23. She live in Chicago south suburbs and is willing to drive up to 5 hours. She does not want to fly. She is in her late 50's and will be traveling with her beau.
They like jazz and blues, and want some culture (if you know what I mean ). She want to go somewhere that have a lot of activities.
I'm thinking a nice jazz club/restaurant for one of the nights. Nice hotel. I'm trying to find her something different, fun and affordable.
Anyone have any suggestions please?

You can check out Indianapolis Downtown Inc. for downtown Indianapolis events, you can even search by category or date.
Also try Indianapolis : Home which gives events, hotels, and tons of info for a great Indy getaway.
By the way... waht kind of jazz? I happen to know of a great Jazz Organization in the Chicago/Northwest Indiana region.

All she said was Jazz and Blues. I think the kind that's was played in those smoke feeled taverns talking about my wife left me and I'm so blue. And then the audience be like uh hun because they can relate. LOL.
Have you ever seen the Color Purple? You know that one scene at the Juke Joint when the fight broke out? Well I think they want music like that with out the fight even though that was the 20's I'll have to ask her.
Thanks for the sites I will check it out, the one aobut indianapolis home sounds really promising.

Try this:
Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom - Festivals & Events From Bean Blossom, IN
It's not jazz or blues, but this festival is world famous.

I ask because my gandparents are the co-founders of the Illiana Club of Traditional Jazz. It's Dixieland jazz, think about "When the Saints go Marching In". Anyway, they have concerts all around Chicago area and thousands of people in the club, club outings, etc. You might have your mom look into it.

I recently became familiar with his music. I'd love to go to the festival.
