Congrats MoheJohe on making the move to Fort Wayne! I think you will enjoy it down here! Fort Wayne is definitely growing (although the recession has slowed it down a litte). However, on my way to work I constantly see new houses going up and that is always positive in an economic climate that we are in now. Do you mind asking where you guys are looking for a house? Like the north, southwest, northeast?

Look forward to hearing from you! Just remember, to enjoy the city you have to make it an initiative to try and enjoy it. Go downtown, the zoo, community events, the new trails that FW has done a great job on, Jefferson Pointe, Glenbrook/Coliseum. You will find that there are a lot of fun things to do! Good luck!

Ty for the responses. After having done some research on this forum and greatschools.com, we are looking towards NW or SW Allen county. We are hoping to rent a house (We have 4 children and 2 Greatdanes.). My husband is an engineer and I am a nurse ( although I prefer being home with my children) Schools are very important to us for our children ( My daughter dreams of getting "coupons" for college lol) I am open to suggestions. Unlike the tide of so many in America atm i really am looking for Mayberry. I know this will be almost impossible to find, but having been raised in a small town myself, I hope to give my children the same benefit or as close to it as possible.

Well those are two pretty good professions to have. For the record, there happens to be in the middle of constructing a $536 million dollar regional hospital right off of I69 and Dupont Road. It is the biggest project ever for Allen County, so if you ever do go back into nursing, there you go! If you have any questions about the northwest and southwest areas let me know! I'll be more than happy to answer for you!
