And what kind of a sad state is it when Danica Patrick gets as much press for throwing a temper tantrum as the winner of the race???? Sumpn' wrong wi-dat.

I love watching the 500, too. I grew up about 60 miles from Speedway, Indiana (where the track is located) and spent many hours at the time trials (qualifications) and watching practice sessions with my father. I never attended the actual race, but have many fond memories of "the month of May in Indiana". There is nothing like it anywhere else!

Well Domergurl, I somewhat agree with you, but this type of stunt gets publicity in any state, in any sport...it may be compounded by the fact that Danica really is the first female driver that actually brings something to the sport, IMO, and the fact that she was sitting in pretty good position with only 29 laps to go in the race and she gets taken out to no fault of her own, but this type of crap gets publicity every weekend no matter where the race is or who the drivers invloved are. Thats just the media for ya, and the media is the same no matter where you go....if it's not contreversial, it's not media worthy....or just find a way to make it contreversial, even if it's not!
I feel sorry for Danica Patrick. The pressure that is on her ... yuck. She's a good driver, but what happened yesterday wasn't intentional and her outburst was unnecessary. Has she been fined? If she hasn't, she should be. A guy would get fined.
