I would like feedback on my potential move to Fort Wayne.
3 kids under 9
looking for a neighborhood with other similar families
commute downtown as easy as possible
catholic – may attend catholic schools and would like to be close
hockey players so close to McMillen would be nice (I’m surprised there’s not another rink on the north side of town; i.e. a private company operation)
parks/trail access a plus
would like easy access to a family lake home north

thanks.

I used to live in Chesterton. It is a nice town, but It would be a Long commute for you if you work in Fort Wayne.

Hmmm, seems lots of people moving to Ft. Wayne! I went to the Highland games and had fun. Never been to Ft. Wayne, but it seems like a clean, pretty city. I live in Terre Haute, and if I move it will be to Brown County, to Nashville or that area. It is awesomely gorgeous! I am 60, do not have to work, can move at any time, and love that area. I do own my house, but that is ok. The scenery in Brown County is just beautiful.
Parke County is nice too. Southern Indiana is very beautiful. I am glad to be a Hoosier, with lovely choices to live and feel comfy and safe.

Live anywhere near the 469/I-69 half loop (yup, they never fully circled it) and you can get from one end to the other of town in less than 20 minutes.

It's faster than Colisseum too! Compared to most cities, Fort Wayne doesn't do bad on traffic, but then, when I go home, after being on the 405 at rush hour, it all seems weak to me...

Even Key West traffic can sometimes be worse than there...

Default 405

Anything is better than the 405!! I lived in Simi Valley for a few years and had to go from Burbank to Simi. Then we moved to Santa Clarita for 12 yrs., and it got worse. Seemed to me everyone was moving out from the S.F. Valley into Santa Clarita! I think driving in Indianapolis is a breeze. I hear complaints about the rush hour, and I just want to say...."you have no idea....let me tell you about rush hour...." I really like Indy. It has a vibe that is really cozy and family and nice.

I grew up in Parke County. I live in Altamonte Springs, FL now. If I were to move back to Indiana it would be to Parke County. I think it is the most senic area of Indiana. I would move back in a minute if it was totally up to me.

Parke and Brown Counties are both the most scenic areas in Indiana in my opinion. I cant seem to choose which one is better.
