Red Cross is really busy down here with the shelters. Making sure people are fed. Heard about a pharmacist who was up with the displaced people until 3am making sure people got their meds that were left at their houses.

domergurl--glad your little piece of the world is dry for now. Rain is back here in B-ton right now. No flooding at my house, but Lake Monroe is really high and water is just gushing out of the dam.

Took some pictures this afternoon. The flood has gone down and there's lots of dried mud around ... sorry these photos aren't that good ... took 'em while driving (shhhh!!!)

So, here's another example of how the flooding was really bad ... remember this photo I took awhile ago?
Well, here's the clocktower after Saturday ... this was in our paper:
It's really depressing driving through town. Belongings, carpet, furniture, lining the streets, pumps spewing water out of basements. And it's hot!!!

I can't imagine it, Domergurl. I thought I had it bad, not selling my house to move up to E-ville where my husband is. My predicament is nothing compared to the loss and misery you and your fellow townspeople are in. I'm so sorry, and I'll keep you and everyone in the multi-state disaster in my prayers.

Thanks Cleo ... it's going to be a long cleanup. The city is really trying to keep up with it all, working in this heat ... yuck!

North side
Hey Yall! I live by Keystone and Ruth Dr. the neighborhood is called Ravenswood. Well we live by the White River and our neighborhood is extremly flooded. Not the whole neighbor. but the part that is close enough to the water! It is scary! There are people with boats, and sand bags! its crazy i just hope everyone else is ok!  |

They've arrested 13 people for LOOTING!!! Looting!!! WTF?? Taking advantage of these people who have lost so much ... drying what they can salvage and stupid doodooheads drive up with trucks and start taking things right out of yards!!! There isn't a good place in heck for these people! Shame.
Other than that ... the city of Columbus smells like a wet dog.
