Default Moving to Terre Haute

I'm moving to THaute in August to start the PhD at ISU. I'm trying to get an apartment there but don't know if there are areas in city where is not recommended to live, for any reasons. There are a couple of places south of ISU that seem really nice, on S Seventh, it's kind of close to ISU, Honey Creeks mall, Walmart, etc. I couldn't believe that the rent is only $250 for a studio including electricity. Anyway, I'd appreciate any kind of information

The avenues are not a good place to live because more crime and a lot of meth problems. Some of south seventh is nice, some is not. You may check out some places in the downtown area. They are really doing a lot to the area. There is a Walmart on the east side on highway 46 now, plus the east side is a nice place to live. Good luck!

If you were talking about the International Apartments on S 7th, they flooded and all the lower apartments are being renovated.

Default Terre Haute

I agree, do not rent on any street that has a number and an "avenue" after it. There are some newer apts. near campus and I think if you contact a local realtor, they can tell you where to find some apts. There are many complexes and many college students rent these. Good luck.
