Tell me about Kokomo and its schools (Delphi, Hope: middle schools, where to live)

I know nothing about Kokomo. I would appreciate info on how the public schools are. Also, where to live???... safety, schools... anything would be helpful. Thanks!

I am originally from Kokomo, but now live in Indy. I can honestly say that any of the county schools will provide your child/children with a great education, especially Northwestern, Eastern and Western.

I am also a former substitute teacher for Kokomo Center Schools... And I can honestly say that it does have some wonderful elementary/middle schools. I know little about the high school, as I mostly worked with middle schoolers. However, I do know that, like any other "inner city" school, Kokomo does encounter some of the more typical urban issues that many schools face.

Graduation Rates for 2007:
Kokomo: 77.4%
Western: 87.7%
Northwestern: 90.6%
Eastern: 94.2%

I live in Kokomo and my kids go to a county school here and we are trying to get the F out of here. Jokomo sucks and with Chrysler and Delphi folding look out or get out!! KCS is better then some other schools around here

Moved to Kokomo in 07. Live about 10 miles out of town in rural area. I checked the state database for school performance (grad rate, test scores etc.) and at the time it was Northwestern, Eastern and then Western as far as those rankings. Our kids go to Northwestern and they (and we) love it. Great school, small enough to be more personal, still very professional and caring. Check the stats though - very helpful when deciding where to live.
