We went yesterday and what a grand time! They have an India tiger show at Riley park that was amazing, if you get a chance go see it. It is the only tiger show that has all 4 types of India tigers in one place.
Heard all types of music from IU band, old time gospel, washboard band, marching clown band, to a 13 yo that played the piano flawlessly quite well in the Home and Family building. The Farm Bureau building held the Indiana youth talent contest we heard some awesome singers from pop to opera along with fine dancing and other acts . On the flip side of that local talent Jessica Simpson was the featured act in the grandstands. This woman sang only cover songs of others and the grandstand seats were not well filled. We didn't attend that show but could hear her and saw the grandstand seats while leaving. But the local areas of talent were of large crowds which they were all deserving! 2 1/2 buildings now are needed to hold the many 4-H projects from youth all over Indiana that are our future! Don't forget to visit the DNR area they were talking about owls yesterday.
In the Land Pavillion (Purdue building) they are featuring Indiana trees and promoting local farmers that will sell you local produce. It is always fun to see kid's faces looking at the largest boar each year too in the hog barn. With the tiniest youngins squealing along side the newest litter of baby pigs as their eyes light up looking at mommy and daddy.
Of course the food, this year's featured food item is deep fried banana foster cheesecake. We didn't try it just didn't appeal to us, we did eat at the pork breeders tent. Afterwards we found $1 off coupons in the Land Pavillion for a any meal there.

So if you eat at the pork tent go get the coupons first!
Oh yes there is more than corn in Indiana folks! Promote it and support it please!
