area Casinos
I'm trying to set up a November trip for a few days to a nearby casino. We live in Fort Wayne and I'd like to stay under a 4 hour drive. Since I don't enjoy the casino as much as my husband, I'd like to be around some shopping, or entertainment, and of course we would need some close accomadations, preferably with dining. We've done Vegas several times and neither of us feel like dealing with the airlines, so does anyone have any recommendations? Since I'm kind of directionally challenged, I was hoping that any dining or entertainment, sports bars etc. were very close to the gambling site.
Thanks for any help!

The only Indiana casino I have ever been to is Casino Aztar in Evansville. It is not great, it is pretty average. But, within the complex around the casino you have Fast Eddy's, Jillians, and Ri Ra among other places. It isn't much, but by Evansville standards it is pretty hopping. There are also casinos around Louisville, Cincy, and then of course French Lick.

I'll check into the Evansville casino. I've never been to French Lick, so I'll check that one too.

My parents are very fond of the Blue Chip in Michigan City. There's also a somewhat new Indiana Casino in New Buffalo, MI.

Belterra sounds nice, I've been looking at that one for a few days. The hotel sounds really nice too. I did notice Foreigner was playing in November and that would be great!
Domergurl, I'll check out the Blue Chip too. Those would be closer to our home. I guess I should get my better half's opinion on these.
I appreciate all the suggestions!

From your location, the Blue Chip in Michigan City would be a good option, malls and such there also, but the very best in the distance you request would be Four Winds casino just above Michigan City into Michigan. An tribal casino, its setting amid acres of woods is lovely. Too, the facility is very complete with much to do and a golf course right by it. Nice experience.
