Post good schoold district in Fort wayne

I will work in Albion, but i want to stay in Fort wayne. I think the schools in Fort wayne will be better than in Ablion. Am I right? As i am a new comer, i don't know how to choose a district. I need suggestion to choose a good school district.
1. My son is 10 years old, so i need consider good middle school and high school.
2. Everyday i need drive from my home to Albion for working. So if the good school district close to my working area is better.
3. The house budget is up to $300k
Thank you in advance!

Good morning. As I live in the Albion area, and work in FtW, can maybe help you some. One of the routes you'll most likely take going back/forth would be on US33 - going the opposite direction of my path and the rest of the herd, but still will have quite a bit of traffic on a two-lane highway. As to the schools near Albion, we too are extremely choosy/demanding, and with that said, I can tell you that I've nothing but praise for the Central Noble school system - very good teachers and admins - in the elementary [Wolf Lake and Albion] and middle/high schools [Albion] that my two critters are in. Again, I have no qualms at all recommending the schools in the Albion area.

Seriously, it may not be your liking/style, but the Albion area is quite nice - depending on where [w/in the city limits, lol, for what they are - it is a small, yet nice community - or more rural, such as I am, which I love] you'd reside. Peaceful living, good people, nice rolling hills in the area, w/ some good lakes, plus Chain 'o Lakes state park too. For that house budget, you'd find a very nice house/land if such was desired.

BTW - depending on where you'd live in the FtW area, if you took that direction instead, budget ~30-45 minute one-way drive to Albion. Another option would be the Huntertown area - that would be Carrol schools, which are quite good, but IMHO for my tastes/desires too large of class size.

Lastly, its no problem for a drive into the big city of FtW to get to the concerts, games, restaurants, and any other activities that are offered there. LOL, only complaint I have is that there is not a hockey rink closer to our area,,, yet! But, soccer and baseball are very big, fun, and well organized in the Albion area for the kids too.

You have a lot of wonderful choices in school districts. It just depends on your priorities. My kids have have great success with FWCS- Shawnee MS just started a "GREAT" principal in Matt Schieble- FWCS Principal of the year. You can see a video about him here:
Northwood Principal Matt Schiebel | The Journal Gazette

My kids go to Northrop and it has been absolutly wonderful for them.. (see my other posts)

Other great options:

NWAC schools: Suburban district, much wealthier than FWCS. Carroll is a large HS, and becoming larger.. (enrollment around 2000 and growing)- Great academics, sports and music programs and you will definitely find a 300K house in the area.

East Noble Schools: I have friends that just LOVE East Noble; my husband is an alum... so check it out as well. (Look in Avilla or Kendallville)-- very nice homes at Cooblestone and Noble Hawk if you golf...

Good luck on your search.
