Brown County/Nashville
We will be spending a few days in Nashville the first week in Oct. Does anyone know if we can rent a boat for fishing in that area? Also, will we need to make dinner reservations because of crowds during that time? We have tickets for a few shows, music and a theater, but we're still looking for other fun things to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated! We'll be there on Friday, Sat. and Sunday.

I would definitely make reservations for dinner if possible. Visiting the shops is an obviouu thing to do as is hiking through Brown County State Park.

Not too far south of Nashville is Patoka lake. Full of bass! Plenty of house boats available this time of year. if you have never been to Brown county before you are in for a real treat! have a great time!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm really looking forward to going to Nashville. I can't believe I've never been there. My husband is looking forward to fishing. Any suggestions for some good food?

Dan, Patoka is at least 2 hours from Nashville if not more. Are you thinking about Monroe?

I was in Nashville this past Friday. I love it there. My husband and I were even married there in the state park (14yrs ago). My favorite is going through all the little shops downtown.

I love the Brown County area even though I live in Elkhart. For all those folks who say Indiana is nothing but flat corn fields, they havent been to Brown County! It reminds me so much of North Carolina...lovely in Fall..wish I could go on the house boat with you all. Have a great time!
