Question Fort Wayne bakeries

We'll be visiting FW in May. My mom turns 90 on Mother's Day and I'd like to get her a nice cake. I'll make a special breakfast that day and we'll take her out to lunch after church. Opus 24 or Eddie's Merlot was the original plan, but I don't think either is open on Sundays. We may settle for Biaggi's for lunch and do one of the others on Monday.

Anyway, I'd like to buy a cake for the double celebration. Not looking for your typical grocery store cake, but something a little more special. Also, where can I find helium balloons in the SW part of town?

Appreciate any suggestions!

Default Best cakes

I think the Best Cakes are from Halls Catering, located at the Halls Guesthouse Hotel. (northside of town off Interstate 69)

Very good chocolate.. Heres the website:http://www.hallscatering.com/default.htm

Scott Bakery at 1320 E State (NOT the grocery) is wonderful. Nutcracker Sweet Shoppe on Garfield is also good...they did my wedding cake.

Julie, I thought about Hall's, but wanted a few more suggestions.

Colz, I'll pass your recommendations by my brother who lives in FW.

Thanks!!
