Default In / Around Bloomington: Flea Markets, or other small retail opportunities?

Are there any flea markets or other similar opportunities in Bloomington (or Spencer, where we may be moving) or within about an hours drive or so, suitable for selling handmade crafts and such? We understand there is a farmers market for produce during the season, but is there anything similar for crafts? Shops in Bloomington seem like good places to offer items on consignment as well, is this a fair statement?

We are looking for ways to supplement income, should we move over there. Thank you! =)

Lori

During the warm months the area east of Nashville on 46 has a large Flea Market Area. It's about 20-25 minutes from Bloomington, probably about an hour from Spencer.

Indy is also about an hour from Spencer, but nearly twice the mileage. There are probably several flea markets up there, but someone more experienced will have to answer your question there!

Hope this helps some!

Except for the places mentioned above, I'm not aware of any outlet for the type of thing you mention. If there was a good Flea Market in the area, I would know as I love a good Flea Market.

I've never been in the building, but there is a place called Eagle's Landing or something like that in Ellettsville. I know there are small shops in there. It might have a spot for something like that.

It's possible there is something down in the Washington/Oden area. You would be competing with the Amish craftsmen down there.

What type of craft? It would be easier to make suggestions regarding consignments with that info.
