Default Moving to outside Indy, how do I find a house to rent?

We are thinking of Mooresville but with out taking the 3 hour drive how do I look around for houses to rent there. I'm kinda stuck on Mooresville because I've heard good things about it.
I really want to be on the outside of town with a big yard but still close enough to Indy for my husband to drive to work there everyday.
Any ideas??
I know I want to be on the west side of Indy because my family is in IL and it would be easier/closer for us.
I'm also wondering about crime, is there a crime website where I can see what areas are better as far as crime?
thanks,

I live and work in Avon and I love it here. It takes about 30 minutes from here to get downtown, I would think the drive in from Mooresville would be a little longer. The actual city data site has a lot of good info as far as demographics for different areas, so be sure to check there.

Try looking at realty groups as you'll find some who deal with rentals. Also, look at the newspaper classified online for the areas you are interested.
Oh, and definately google for some rental agencies, you may find someone to talk with who can help you out.

Good luck!

i think you should look at Plainfield great comunity less than 30 minutes from downtown, great schools, religously and ethnicly diverse, strong focus on values and plainfield has a small town feel even though plainfield isnt small.plus great variety of shopping choices. as far as looking for rentals i suggest Craigslist and looking at a Realitor to help you. like Carpenter homes or Century 21. I wish you luck with your search and maye you be happy where ever you end up.
