Whats funny about people in Indiana
Anytime we get ready to get snow or it does snow people all rush out to the grocery store to get milk and break. LIke were going to be snowed in for weeks and they will need milk and break to live. The roads are usually cleared off in 24 hours people!!
And whats even funnier is people go out IN THE SNOW or before the roads are cleared to get the stuff. So then whats the point if its not bad enough to keep you in anyways.

It's like that in many areas. When I lived near the east coast, if 1" of snow was forecast, you could count on the grocery stores being cleaned out.
Hopefully the people of upstate NY cleaned out all of the grocery stores last week. I guess you never know when 11 feet of snow will fall!!!!

What's even funnier is how south of Lafayette, the mere THREAT of more than 3 inches of snow causes all kinds of cancellations, school closings, etc....then when an inch falls everyone is like "oh".....lol

I grew up near South Bend and we had to have at least a foot of snow on the ground before they would cancel school. None of these silly 2 hour delays like they had last week.
And it really stinks because my normal grocery shopping day is either monday or tuesday! This is the second straight week where I've had to put up with people who normally don't shop when I do .. I just want to yell .. "get out of my store!!"
It is funny how people down here go into panic mode when there's a winter storm warning. I was outside today without a coat, heck it was 40 degrees! When I lived in Chicago, people didn't panic so much. You just bundled up a little more and got back to your life.

this is unbelievable. The West Lafayette and Lafayette Schools have both cancelled for tomorrow and not even one flake of white stuff has fallen yet.

I have to wonder what everyone plans to do with the bread and milk... would probably be better off buying candles, lighters, bottled water, canned food, and ensuring that they have propane for the grill or camp stove. Well I did live in Buffalo NY a few years :-)
1 or 2 feet of snow is hardly worth worrying about - roads will be cleared in 1 day and if power goes out for too long you just shack up at a hotel. My biggest concern is Comcast going out with the power... would suck to be without TV or Broadband for long - I would go through Internet withdrawal for sure. *smirk*

Thats rediculous. We had 8" on 12/1 and no schools were cancelled up here. I trudged to work for 2 hours (one way) in the stuff, as did everyone else. I thought you Hoosiers were tougher than that? LOL j/k of course
