It wouldn't be hard for you to crossover to CNC Machining. Check out the orthpediac, (SP), Warsaw, IN.

I know this is not my thread, and I realize this thread is orignally a few months old, but I just wanted to thank JulieL for the list of machine shops around Columbus. My husband is a machinist, he has a college degree in business but prefers machining, has done it for 18 years, and that is the field he wants to stay in.

Since we have narrowed down our relocation search to either Bloomington/Bedford area or Columbus, IN area, having a list of place to look into and perhaps send resumes to is a great start! We hadn't even started looking yet, but your information is starting us in the right direction.

Thanks!

Hello Dreaming4south,

There are a few more to mention. PECO and Decatur Mold in North Vernon, Hoosier Tool and Die, Centerline Mold in Edinburgh, and Precise Mold. I used to be an Office Manager at Precise Mold...great bunch of guys. It's been a while since I have been apart of the mold industry. So, I do not know if they are staying busy.

Good Luck to you.
JulieL

If you are considering re-locating, look at Birmingham alabama. Because it is near Fairified where the USX steel mills are located there are lots of good machine shops. Birmingham is just a manufacruring town. I know of a couple of good machine shops in Birmingham. There is a lot more manual work than cnc. Call Dixie Precision. Theyare in the North part of the city. Dixie Precision is a good company with good folks. They pay great and they have good benefits. Dixie
