Time Change In The Spring and Fall
I don't live in Indiana, I am a native of Arizona, and I know that in the past, both states did not do the time change for DST in the spring and fall. But in recent years I heard that Indiana is now like the other states that do the time change, am I correct?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, we change our clocks now. Mitch pushed it through a couple of years ago. I think it is great; though the other night I had to explain the concept of daylight savings time to one of my friends at work, it was pretty funny.

I'd prefer to be on Central Time, but unless we live in NW Indiana or SW Indiana, it's not the case. Yea, it's great (not), having it be dark at 6pm.

I believe only two states remain not observing DST - Arizona & Hawaii. Originally from Wisconsin, was a bonus when we moved to Indiana ~12 yrs. ago and didn't have to change ump-teen clocks. Indiana just recently re-implemented DST; a few folks I've talked to even recall when Indiana used to observe DST some years back. Not sure when/why has flip-flopped. DH and I are used to it, but some people are confused what to do when. Have to admit, is much easier to "fall back" in Nov. when gain an hour than it is to "spring ahead" and lose that hour - ugh!

Being on Central Time would make it worse. Instead of getting dark at 6 pm now, it would be getting dark at 5pm if we were on Central time.
I say keep us on eastern time, and abolish DST.

If we didn't change our clocks, it would be back to normal.

I don't follow your logic. It gets dark at 6 now. If DST was never brought into Indiana it would get dark at 6 now. If we were on Central time, we would be an hour behind, and it would get dark at 5. Too me, that is worse.
Actually, I think I do follow your logic. Back to the way it was before DST was brought to Indiana, this is what i want.

Thanks for the information. A friend of mine thought Indiana, or portions of it, is still like Arizona, doesn't change time in the spring and fall, and I told her that it's no longer the case.
I think the only other state, that doesn't go on DST, besides Arizona, is Hawaii.
