Default Rudolph's Diner in Santa Claus?

I just saw an ad on TV (I think for a GPS) and they say their kids did a search for Santa Claus and it came up as Santa Claus, Indiana, and then they showed a restaurant there called Rudolph's Diner where it looked like the waiters were actual midgets or dwarfs dressed as elves. We were in Santa Claus a few years ago to go to Holiday World and I never heard anything about this diner. Is it for real? I would think it's a joke except they actually showed a road sign that said Santa Claus, Indiana, and then pictures of this diner. If anyone knows anything about it, I'd love to know, as we plan on maybe going back there this summer. We have a long drive to get there (about 15-16 hours) and it's worth it just to ride Voyage. What a fabulous ride. The whole park is really nice and the people are just great.

LOL....I hope it was just artistic license! Picturing a sign in Rudolph's Diner:

"Help Wanted
Tall People Need Not Apply"

I guess it would be legal, eh? I mean Hooters has a special prerequisite, right? LOL

I Googled this because I was curious as well. I found no listings for Rudolph's, but did find a listing for Saint Nicks restaurant. Happy Holidays to all!

Default Rudolph's Diner does not exist!

I live in Santa Claus, Indiana. While we tremendously appreciate the fact that Radio Shack decided to promote our town in its recent ad, we are more than disappointed that they chose to create a fictitious restaurant in their recent ad. It really wasn't necessary to create something new when they could have expanded upon something that already existed.

I just can’t imagine why they would want to get kids excited about the possibility of coming to our town and trying to visit this amazing diner that doesn't really exist. It looks like it would be a great place. The commercial is presented as being somewhat factual, so I wouldn't blame anyone for bringing their kids to Santa Claus, Indiana to visit Rudolph's Diner. Unfortunately, the kids will be disappointed that it doesn't exist.

We do have St. Nick’s restaurant at the Santa’s Lodge and we have the Santa’s Candy Castle as well as the Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort.

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus, Indiana, but Radio Shack lied about there being a Rudolph’s Diner.

Maybe someone should create a real rudolph's diner. It sure would be worth a visit if i was ever in Santa Clause.Im not too sure though about the midgets or dwarfs for waiters.I bet someone would make a stink about that.

come on people it's a commercial. The purpose is to entertain and inform about radio shack. Not be factually accurate on the town.

It is supposed to entertain not unlike a movie or tv show.

Radio Shack didn't lie. They (or more likely their ad agency) told a story. A nice heat warming holiday story.

If the people from Santa Claus Indiana have a problem with it maybe they should turn away all the visitors they will get from having their name on a national tv commercial.

(People from the town would more than likely had to approve the use of the name in the spot. If stonebeard has issues he should take it up with them.)
