Hey DragonseyeGlassworks, Who is the Mayor of Peru now? Have you ever thought of turning Down Town Peru into a shopping outlet zone. I would love to talk to you face to face. The reason I mention this is, the Edinburgh Shopping Outlet Mall is actually in Taylorsville which is in Bartholamew County. Edinburgh is located right on the county lines of Bartholamew, Johnson, and Shelby Counties. Edinburgh likes to claim the outlet as their special feature attraction and to them it is a big deal because the town itself is an unsightly community that stands out like Bugtussle. It's is just another pedafiles playground, and in this area where I live you run into alot of men who think you want to sleep with them because you say hi to them or are polite to them. I was brought up to be decent about myself yet outwardly freindly to others. It really turns my stomach. When I lived in Peru I could say hi to anyone and not get that sleezy response from folks up there. That is why Edinburgh is known as Columbus' ugly step child. Unlike Peru it doesn't have a heritage and it doesn't have real heart. Just to give you an example of how rough these folks are I had some experience from people down here that I will never forget. There is a woman who wanted me to abandon my 76 year old mother and take up with her son and run her around and I DIDN'T FALL FOR IT. Well out of spite she ran around telling folks that I was spreading rumors about her being a ***** and how she was hurt because as she put it She was willing to do anything for me. It was all a bunch of crock, but she managed to get a bunch of people mad at me. Then my neighbor was spreading rumors about my mother and I being witches, because we are Catholics. We were wandering why folks were grabbing their children and moving out of our way here in Franklin. My mother and I went out and bought presents for the ungrateful maggot's infant daughter when she was born, and my mother was only to eager to crochet a blankets for them. I never ran into so many cold blooded people, it is so unreal. We are being treated as outcast here.
I would rather be living in Peru.

Well it started in Edinburgh and was going on for over a year before I found out and even here in Franklin I still deal with the problem because some of that woman's clique live in this area. Then it turns out some of her relatives live next door. My mother and I don't bother people or run around with sticks in our hands stirring up trouble, but in fact we beleive that you should not stick your nose in your neighbors business unless you can fix their problem. We don't expect big rewards for our good deeds, but I don't appreciate getting knived in the back and neither does my mother after she mowed their yard several times out of the goodness of her heart, while his wife was pregnant. How would you feel if you found out that you and people who shared the same beliefs as you had been classified as people who dance naked in church yards and exchange bodily fluids with barn yard animals, and sacrifice children to the devil. Why I am at it, Catholics do not practice Witchcraft or worship the Devil.

How about you don't group all Edinburghians in the same grouping. I've lived here my entire life, and have met a lot of good people here. I'll admit I've met bad too, but thats going to be that way everywhere. And Edinburgh isn't ugly, and it has a rich history. There are a lot of beautiful homes that just need some attention (walnut, and main cross are filled with them, for instance) but with lear having gone out, and the economy the way it is there hasn;t been the money. they were working on it though. Also, Edinburgh Premium Outlets is still called Edinburgh premium outlets no matter where it is, and Edinburgh gets the tax dollars. Plus, not everyone in Edinburgh thinks about catholics that way. In all honesty, you may not do those anti-christ things you listed, but your being very unchristian by deciding that a whole town agrees on the same things, because you seriously just put down some of my clostest friends and family memebers who, even not knowing you, would help you if you were in need just as you did that lady, and just because theres one ungrateful person in a town doesn't mean that all of them are. And might I add, if you dont want rumors spread, then dont live in a small town. So next time, check your facts before you start labeling.

Excuse me but HAVE you ever noticed that you can see the outlet mall easily from Taylorville standing at ground level, and you cannot so much as spot the rooftops from Edinburgh. And, I am not the only one who notices that.

While I agree with you regarding being able to see the outlet mall from Taylorsville, it's possible that the township line for Edinburgh starts as you go under 65 on US31.

Can we be nice?

Actually the township line for Edinburgh stops at the Bartholamew / Johnson County Line which does run thru Edinburgh. The outlet mall is in German township, not Blue River township.

Hello,

I saw your post and you may be the right person to ask. My family and I will be relocting to Peru in late July. I searched everywhere I could think of for a good sized house to rent, but had no luck. Do you have any suggestions?

Also, my wife works in the medical field as a billing specialist. Are there many hospitals or clinics in the area?

Thank you for your input, any information that you could provide me would be great.

V/r,
Scott

Scott there are a ton of homes for rent in this area. There is also a hospital in town and one in Kokomo. Not a bad little town. Friendly people.
